State-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) operational region (Daop) 3 Cirebon, West Java, distributed 100 balloons and flowers to children boarding the train. “[We] share balloons and flowers to commemorate National Children Day,” said Wisnu Pramudyo, Deputy Vice President of KAI Daop 3 Cirebon, on Monday, July 23.
Wisnu expected the presents would enhance their interest in railways. He claimed that each station became more friendly to children because KAI provided facilities such as playroom and lactation room.
“In stations, we facilitate a lactation room and child’s park in a bid to cater children,” he added.
Wisnu said KAI as transportation operator kept striving to put passengers safety first, including children. For example, by allowing Rp0 for children in 0-3 age. The regulation, he mentioned, to guarantee their trip assurance.
“Even they [children] do not purchase a ticket, they still have a ticket,” Wisnu said, adding that the free ticket could be obtained by showing the parent’s boarding pass to the KAI booth officers.
