The company from the United States (US), Amazon.com, ensures to invest in Indonesia with a value of 1 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp 14 trillion more.
Certainty was stated when the Amazon represented by Vice President Werner Vogels met President Joko Widodo at the State Palace on Friday (9/21/2018) morning.
“Regarding Amazon, the company yesterday met with the President in Hanoi. Now meet again today. They are interested in investing in Indonesia of Rp. 14 trillion or about 1 billion US dollars,” Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said at a press conference at the Ministry of Finance on Friday, as reported by Kompas.com.
In a meeting between President Jokowi and the Amazon, Sri Mulyani accompanied. According to Sri Mulyani, Amazon plans to invest Rp. 14 trillion for the next 10 years in the form of investment and operational expenses.
“Their investment is in the form of cloud computing. In terms of what they will do, you should ask Amazon,” said Sri Mulyani.
While overseeing this investment process, Sri Mulyani made sure to provide incentives so that the ease of investment could also be carried out. The matter of incentives and regarding the taxation mechanism will be discussed further in the Ministry of Finance internally.
