Indonesia-Spain increases cooperation both at the government to government (G2G) and business to business (B2B) levels, especially in the field of infrastructure development.
The cooperation meeting was attended by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono while in Madrid, Spain in the framework of the Business Indonesia Roundtable Meeting which took place Friday, 21 September 2018.
The day before, Thursday (20/9), Basuki had a meeting with the head of the construction company Centunion Group to discuss opportunities for cooperation in flyover technology and steel frame bridges to support connectivity between regions in Indonesia.
In the discussion, Basuki said infrastructure development including roads and bridges had become a priority of the Governments of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) to reduce travel time and logistical costs so that it would increase national competitiveness.
“The construction of flyovers and bridges in Indonesia is still dominant in using concrete construction such as the construction of the Cikampek Flyover Road. The use of steel construction in the construction of flyovers and bridges is very possible,” Basuki explained in an official statement received by Kabare.id on Saturday (9/22).
One of the discussion material in the roundtable investement is about the potential of Spain in the aspect of railroad technology and tourism which is their strength.
The signing of the agreement between Kadin Indonesia was represented by the Deputy General Chairman of the Construction and Infrastructure Division, Kadin, Erwin Aksa together with the Secretary General, Secretary General of Spain’s Chamber of Commerce Industry, Adolfo Diaz Ambrona, witnessed by Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono with Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Transportation of Spain, Pedro Saura Garcia.
