The celebration of Indonesian National Batik Day was enlivened by making batik together with participants reaching 5,000 people. The event was held at the TNI Headquarters Plaza Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday (02/10/2018).
The TNI Commander, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto explained, the MURI record-breaking of batik was done as a form of gratitude for the still preserving of the world-recognized Indonesian culture.
“All this is done as a manifestation of our love of batik culture,” said Hadi as quoted by Antaranews.com.
MURI Record Breaking Batik with Canting involves mothers from Dharma Pertiwi, Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana, Jalasenastri, PIA Ardhya Garini, IKKT Pragati Wira Anggini.
In addition, Bhayangkari mothers, Dharma Wanita Ministries and Institutions, mothers of the Majelis Taklim and other female elements were enlivened.
Raising the theme “Dharma Pertiwi Membatik, Adherence to the Diversity of the Archipelago” this event was also attended by the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Armed Forces and High Officials. The activity was also attended by Mothers from OASE.
A number of well-known artists also enliven the event, ranging from Krisdayanti, Vina Panduwinata, Harvey Malaiholo, Judika, Maya Hasan, to Cinta Laura.
This activity was held to realize the spirit of nationalism by introducing batik art and culture. (ant / bas)
