President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) returned “blusukan” to the traditional market. This time, it was the turn of Pasar Anyar, Tangerang City, Banten Province, which was visited by Jokowi, on Sunday, November 4, 2018.
Interestingly, during this visit Jokowi drove a modified Kawasaki W175 motorbike and was predominantly green.
Around 6:15 a.m., with the Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto, Mayor of Tangerang, Arief Wismansyah, and Tangerang Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, Jokowi began riding his motorcycle from around Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Tangerang.
Along the way, few people who enthusiastically greeted, Jokowi also responded to their greetings by waving and smiling.
Arriving at the market around 06.33 WIB, Jokowi then walked into the market to visit the traders, including vegetables, fruits, chicken, eggs, and meat. Jokowi also talked with the traders and asked about the price conditions on the market.
“The first is that we have a low inflation rate below 3.5 (percent), I want to check it in the field. Is that the same? After the checks are all stable,” Jokowi said after the review.
Based on his observations, some commodities in the market are stable. Some even experienced a decline, for example eggs from IDR 30,000 per kilogram to IDR 22,000 per kilogram. The price of rice varies between IDR 8 thousand to IDR 12 thousand, depending on quality. While tempe prices are stable at IDR 5,000.
“Buy it all. Buy petai, tempeh, tofu, fish. Meat is IDR 120 thousand. Melinjo, chili IDR 30 thousand, even if it rises, it can be IDR 80 thousand,” Jokowi said.
According to Jokowi, fluctuations in prices on the market are common. He also hoped that no parties would say the opposite to the actual price conditions on the market.
After being blown away at Pasar Anyar, Jokowi continued the activities by taking part in morning exercise. The event which was held to commemorate the 54th National Health Day was centered on the yard of the Tangerang Mayor’s Office.
Jokowi arrived at the location at 07.47 WIB. His arrival was welcomed by the Minister of Health, Nila F. Moeloek and Banten Governor Wahidin Halim. Exactly at 08.00 WIB, the President wore a long-sleeved brown shirt to the stage.
“A healthy lifestyle, not only in Tangerang, but we must continue throughout the country,” said the President after gymnastics.
The healthy lifestyle according to the President is regulating diet, regulating sleep patterns, and exercising. These three things are important factors for maintaining health.
“This healthy life movement really needs to be encouraged so that the BPJS numbers go down. It looks like there from my hand (note), what heart comes out, what cancer comes out, what our health pattern looks like,” said the President
Therefore, the most important thing is how we can maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our meals, rest, and exercise, we all manage as well as possible, said Jokowi. (bas)
