Banda Aceh City Government (Pemkot) will hold a tourist exhibition in Malaysia in early 2019.
“Banda Aceh and Malaysia have direct flights every day, from Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Therefore, we are determined to attract more tourists from Malaysia to come to enjoy the potential of Islamic tourism, culinary and zikr tourism in Bumi Serambi Mekkah,” said Mayor of Banda Aceh , Aminullah Usman, in an official statement on Monday (1/7/2019).
He said, this year it targets the number of visits of 1 million domestic and foreign tourists. According to him, the target is realistic considering the huge amount of tourism potential of Banda Aceh that can be sold to the outside world. Just name it, historical, cultural, religious, tsunami education, culinary, to marine tourism.
On another occasion, the Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya, believed that Banda Aceh’s tourism would increase. “The target is clear, moreover Banda Aceh has a halal tourism advantage which is the market for Malaysian tourists,” he said. (Bas)
