The government will loosen export provisions for a number of commodities. This step was taken to encourage exports.
Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita said that commodities would be boosted such as coal and oil palm.
“Basically, we make facilities. Everything that can be simplified is simplified, for example minerals, coal, then oil palm,” said Enggar after a coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Central Jakarta, Thursday (1/24/2019).
The procedure that will be relaxed, he said, is related to the provisions of the surveyor report (LS). These provisions will be removed so as not to cause duplication of checks.
Enggar continued, his side would revise the rules regarding the provisions of the LS in the next week.
Regarding the potential of exports, Enggar cannot yet provide a more detailed explanation. According to him, this slack is to boost exports.
“We talk about ease, acceleration, reducing various unnecessary costs,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Perry Warjiyo, who was present, did not talk much about the results of the meeting. (fig / fig)
