Alibaba Interested in Developing Tourism in Bali

The Chinese technology company Alibaba Group is interested in developing tourism in Bali.

Business Group General Manager for the Southeast Asia region of Alibaba Group, Cerry Huang said this was done considering that in recent years, Bali has become the belle of Chinese citizens on vacation.

He said, later Alibaba will make a travel guide application in Bali that will work with tourism entrepreneurs and several banks in Bali.

“So that Chinese tourists are easier to travel in Bali, they have to go where and a good restaurant can be searched through the application,” he said in an official statement on Wednesday (1/30/2019).

Previously, the application had been successfully implemented in Thailand and Vietnam. Cherry claimed, the presence of the application in the two countries was able to increase the number of tourists from China. He also hopes that this application can run successfully in Bali and be able to increase tourist visits from China to Bali.

“For the past three years, the number of independent tourists from China has increased. In the past 80 percent of Chinese tourists used the services of travel agents and came with groups, currently self-sufficient tourists increased by 50 percent. “They rely heavily on guide applications like this,” he said.

The Deputy Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati welcomed the proposal and supported the cooperation as soon as possible.

The Deputy Governor, familiarly called Cok Ace, said that Bali and China have very close historical and cultural relations. “I want to invite Chinese people to come to Bali while seeing their ancestral heritage here,” he said.

One of the Chinese cultures that live in Bali will be displayed at the Batur Festival which will be held on February 6, 2019. The festival prepared to welcome the Chinese New Year will tell the history of cooperation between Bali and China in the 13th century. (rls / bas)
