BTPN Merged with Sumitomo Mitsui Bank

PT Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Tbk (BTPN) officially joined or merged with PT Bank Sumitomo Mitsui Indonesia (SMBCI). The two companies joined and operated first today under the name BTPN Bank.

BTPN President Director Ongki Wanadjati Dana said, this merger is an ideal mix and complementary.

“The bank resulting from the ideal blend merger between the mass market-focused BTPN, MSMEs and SMBCI is a corporate focus. It has different segments and business models that are complementary,” he said at the Jakarta BTPN Tower, Friday (01/2019)

“By bringing the name of the Bank of BTPN, the new bank resulting from the merger has the vision of Indonesia’s top choice bank,” he continued.

He believes, with the support of technology the company will increasingly contribute to the national economy. He said, the company will remain focused on the line of business developed so far.

“Especially with the support of digital technology, mergers are believed to have a positive impact not only on companies but on the national economy,” he said.

“The merged BTPN Bank will focus on developing the main business owned by BTPN and SMBCI before,” he concluded. (fdl/fdl)
