Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman focuses on increasing the production and downstreaming of coffee commodities, especially from Tana Toraja. He distributed superior coffee seed assistance to North Tana Toraja and Toraja Regencies, through a rejuvenation program so that Toraja coffee became more global.

Whereas North Toraja Regency is allocated an area of 300 hectares, valued at Rp. 2.85 billion.
“This superior coffee seed will bring Toraja more globally, because the seeds we carry are not arbitrary, because of its productivity of 3.5 to 4 tons per hectare per year. Earlier I had a discussion with farmers, the condition of production was only 300 kilograms per hectare per year,” said Amran, Tuesday (03/12/2019).

“Vietnam used to study in Indonesia. We just returned from Hanoi Vietnam, we met with farmers. They now produce 3.5 tons per hectare. Why aren’t our farmers eager to pursue it?” he said.
“So today, there are 50 coffee seed truck helpers. Those are all superior seeds, don’t just plant coffee seeds,” Amran asked.

“This coffee aid was also sent by him (President-ed). He really loved your mother (community-ed). Whatever farmers ask, if the government is capable we will be able to afford it. If I need it, I will leave it to farmers,” Amran added.
